The Wheatley Flood Booklet

The Wheatley Flood Awareness booklet cost 25p per copy to produce

We were delighted to be asked by Wheatley Parish Council to help them with a flood awareness booklet to be distributed to people in the village to help for any future events. Using a portion of a grant from the local council it is to be distributed to residents in areas that could be at risk. We were able to help them with the layout, design and of course the drawing.

How do you get some pretty boring but actually quite important information out to a lot of people on a minimum budget? With a zine! There is something about making a useful but totally non commercial product which is quite satisfying.

We went to great lengths researching how to fold sandbags, how to illustrate cutaways for housing flood protection and also just had a nice time drawing a picture of the High St.

Essentially deploying all of the skills we could muster typically reserved for our big brand corporate clients. It was a joy to create this document, to step beyond the usual production of illustration and into page layout and print specs and to finally have a physical copy in hand.

We’ve included a few images of our favourite pages from the booklet below. If you want your own copy… you have to live in Wheatley and be given it by the Parish Council.
